Shade Tolerant Herbs

As an urban prepper it’s so important to maximize all your resources.  In the garden, your space can be limited so taking advantage of using shade tolerant herbs in those dark corners is a great way to increase your gardens annual out put.  I am fortunate to have a good size back yard and can grow a ton of fruits and vegetables for my family by using square foot gardening techniques.

This method teaches you to move away from classic planting requirements and shows you how to utilize every inch of your garden.  The shade tolerant herbs listed in this infographic below can be planted in shady corners, under fruit trees, or in any low sun sections of your garden.  These plants all serve a purpose in your preps and can be used for cooking, medicine, supporting garden health, or making your own teas.
